The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, in cooperation with Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), organised a Summer Training Course for students from Portuguese-speaking Countries. It was aimed at promoting the implementation of measures announced during the 5th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao, namely in relation to setting up continuing education programmes for people from Portuguese-speaking Countries, via training initiatives held jointly by Mainland China and Macau institutions. A group of 15 teachers and students took part in the Summer Training Course from August 26 to 30.

During the Course, a series of activities and several thematic seminars was held to help students have better understanding of Chinese history and culture, the economics of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), China’s economy, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area strategy, and the latest trends in online marketing and e-commerce.

Students participating in the Course also paid a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao and to the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), as well as other public institutions, to gain insight into Macao’s Platform role, the development of the city’s convention and exhibition industry, and the city’s trade sector. Students also had the opportunity to visit cultural sites while in Macao.
