On May 23, Mr Ji Xianzheng, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, met with the delegation from the Confederation of Enterprises of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CE-CPLP) led by its President, Ms Nelma Fernandes. The two sides exchanged views on further promoting and strengthening economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, as well as fully utilizing Macao’s role as a commercial and trade cooperation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng welcomed the delegation of CE-CPLP and introduced the main tasks of Forum Macao and its Permanent Secretariat, as well as the commemorations of Forum Macao’s 20th Anniversary. The Secretary-General also invited the CE-CPLP to participate in future activities organized by Forum Macao. President Fernandes said that in the future, the CE-CPLP is willing to make a greater contribution to promote the relationship between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and fully make use of Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and organize various enterprises and institutions from Portuguese-speaking Countries to participate in upcoming Ministerial Conference of the Forum Macao.
The meeting was attended by: Coordinator of the Liaison Office and Representative of São Tomé and Príncipe, Mr Gika Makeba da Graça Simão; Representative of Angola, Mr Agostinho João António dos Santos; Representative of Cabo Verde, Mr Nuno Miguel Melo Furtado; Representative of Equatorial Guinea, Ms Cristina Mangue Abeso; Representative of Mozambique, Ms Francisca Torcida Reino; and Representative of Portugal, Ms Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro.
