Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao participates in World Maritime Equipment Conference 2024

To promote and implement the “Strategic Plan for Economic and Trade Co-operation” of the 6th Ministerial Conference of Forum Macao and foster cooperation in areas such as the blue economy between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, a delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao led by Deputy Secretary-General Xie Ying participated in the World Maritime Equipment Conference 2024 in Fuzhou between November 14 and 17, 2024 and exchanged insights with local enterprises.


The World Maritime Equipment Conference 2024, themed around “Carrying the Dreams of Humanity to New Horizons”, features a range of activities such as an opening ceremony, keynote sessions, and business matching sessions. The conference, a high-level event with great influence and quality in the maritime equipment industry, revolves around hot topics on maritime equipment, with focuses on collaborative innovation, economic and trade connections, and achieving the transformation of the entire industrial chain. The event strives to promote the high-end, green and intelligent development of the maritime equipment industry while showcasing the cutting-edge developments and significant accomplishments of the global maritime equipment industry from comprehensive aspects.


The delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao attended the opening ceremony of the World Maritime Equipment Conference 2024 and the Seminar on the Ocean 2024 of 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee, among other activities. During their stay in Fuzhou, the delegation also went to HongDong Pelagic Fishery Industrial Park; Shenhai Innovation Laboratory; Fujian Jingfu Ocean Fishery Development Co., Ltd.; Guanwu Ocean Exploitation Co., Ltd. in Lianjiang, Fujian; and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for site visits. Both parties established connections and exchanged opinions on future cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in the field of marine economy by leveraging the function of Macao as a Sino-Lusophone platform, Macao’s “1+4” diversified industrial development strategies and the opportunities brought by the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
