According to BYD, the construction of BYD's first factory in Brazil is progressing. The factory in Camaçari, Bahia, will be completed in October this year.

The BYD's vice-president in Brazil, Alexandre Baldy, said that the first vehicles will be produced in Bahia within this year. At the same time, when it’s fully operational, the BYD complex in Camaçari will use Chinese investment to employ 10,000 employees.

This project began in March, planning to construct three factories and the production of up to 150,000 vehicles a year in the future. The equipment for installing the first assembly line is already on its way from China to Camaçari on ships that will arrive in Brazil next month.
