On September 24, Chinese government offered São Tomé and Principe almost a batch of materials to implement a new strategy aimed at eradicating malaria in the archipelago.
The materials for anti-malaria include medicines and consumables for the malaria reference laboratory, reagents, screening materials, insecticides for spraying and office equipments. The aim is to “further improve working conditions and promote treatment efficiency in order to benefit more local people”.
The Chinese ambassador said that based on “successful experience in African countries and the real situation in São Tomé and Príncipe”, Chinese technicians have helped develop a new strategy against malaria, through mass treatment and a system of prevention and treatment at national, district and community levels that will be implemented in the archipelago.
