The Guinean President will make his first official visit to China from the 10th to the 12th of this month, where he will sign a general cooperation framework agreement between Bissau and Beijing, Guinean government sources told Lusa.

Sissoco Embaló's state visit will be the second by a Guinean President to China, after that of the late former President João Bernardo Vieira in June 2006.

The same source pointed out that China cooperates with Guinea-Bissau in education, health, agriculture, infrastructure and fisheries.

The only highway in Guinea-Bissau, a stretch of 8.2 kilometers that connects the Osvaldo Vieira International Airport to the town of Safim, is being built by China, costing 13.6 million euros.

The country's main artisanal fishing port, located in Bandim, on the outskirts of Bissau, was built by the Chinese with 24 million euros.
