The 4th Albergue Lusophone Market will be held on February 17th and 18th outside the Santa Casa de Misericórdia (SCM) Albergue in São Lázaro. 18 stalls were on site to showcase typical products from the Macanese community, Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries. Wines, drinks, cans, nuts, coffee, but also lots of handicrafts and perfumes were on display at the event.
Heiman Sou, from Sardinia Macau, said that the event, organized by the Macau Circle of Friends of Culture, the SCM Hostel and the Portuguese Restaurants & Retail Concept, is set to continue and will be held every weekend from next month.
The idea, he explained, is that the initiative, which was previously organized quarterly whenever possible, will now take place every weekend and thus become a regular event in Macau, allowing tourists to be exposed to a unique cultural experience of Lusophony that can be found nowhere else.
