In a statement issued on February 12, Mota-Engil informs that it has signed a contract worth 115 million euros relating to a waste management project in Peru, within the scope of the Las Bambas project. Mota-Engil's shareholder is China Communications Construction Company Limited.
The Las Bambas project, considered one of the largest copper mines in the world, currently operated by a Chinese joint venture, is located approximately 560 kilometers from Lima, at 4000 meters above sea level, in the southern interior of Peru.
“With this new contract, Mota-Engil reinforces its order book in one of its core markets, reaching around US$300 million in new awards in these first weeks of 2024," concludes the company.
The Portuguese construction company had announced, at the end of January, contracts in Angola and Mexico for the construction of infrastructure in both countries worth 975 million euros.
