Brazil, the world's largest meat exporter, will further increase shipments of the product abroad in 2024, thanks to increased demand from China and an ample supply of beef and chicken, according to a study by Robabank.

In the pig market, the supply of animals will grow less, but increased restrictions in competitor countries should stimulate demand for Brazilian protein.

The study predicts that Brazilian beef sales to foreign markets will grow by 2% to 3% in 2024, stimulated by China. From January to November 2023, Brazil exported 2.3 million tonnes, according to the Brazilian Association of Meatpackers (Abrafrigo).

According to Rabobank calculations, the total volume of Chinese imports of the protein will grow by 6% to 7% compared to 2023, or the equivalent of 200,000 tonnes.
