The mayor of Viseu, Fernando Ruas, recently received a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Portugal at the Town Hall.

The objective was to present new investment projects in the area of solar energy, as explained by the municipality in a statement.

The delegation included the Chinese ambassador to Portugal, Zhao Bentang; the economic and commercial advisor Xia Xiaoling, the general director of China Machinery Engineering Corporation in Portugal, Wu Jie.

Founded in 1978, China Machinery Engineering Corporation is China's first major engineering and trading company, having expanded its business reach to more than 150 countries. The activity of this group involves areas such as electrical energy, transport, electronic communications, housing, architecture, production and processing units, environmental protection, mining and resource prospecting.
