The World Bank is lending Angola another US$150 million to pay for better water supply and sewerage infrastructure, Angop reports.
The Angolan news agency says the improved infrastructure will connect 1.2 million people in nine Angolan cities to public water mains.
The report says the World Bank has already paid US$200 million for the improvement of water supply and sewerage systems in Angola.
Giving people a better water supply is crucial, as dirty water causes disease and keeps them in poverty, Angop quotes World Bank Country Manager for Angola Olivier Lambert as saying.
