Cabo Verde Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Olavo Correia opened on Tuesday the offices in the country’s capital Praia of the association of Chinese merchants in Cabo Verde, A Nação reports.

The Cabo Verde newspaper quotes Mr Correia as saying at the opening ceremony that his country is open to all foreign investors, and means to create an environment favourable for doing business.

Mr Correia urged the members of the association to invest in innovation, boost exports, and create what he called decent and well-paid jobs, A Nação says.

In a separate report, the Cabo Verde news website Mindel Insite says the association was founded in 2017, comprising at first Chinese merchants on the island of São Vicente and later merchants in other parts of the archipelago.
