Aptoide Chief Executive Paulo Trezentos has said the Portuguese app store and Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd of China are having talks about getting round Google LLC restrictions on access by Huawei to the Android operating system and Google applications, Dinheiro Vivo reports.
The Portuguese financial newspaper quotes Mr Trezentos as saying the situation creates is “an interesting market opportunity to create a partnership and solve this problem”.
The report says a partnership may entail Huawei smartphones being sold with the Aptoide app store already installed, or the Aptoide and Huawei app stores being integrated.
It says the Aptoide app store has over 200 million customers and offers over 900,000 Android apps.
Aptoide already works with the Chinese makers of Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo smartphones, Dinheiro Vivo quotes Mr Trezentos as saying.
