Cabo Verdean Education Minister Maritza Rosabal Peña expects the first batch of her compatriots studying for degrees at the Macao Polytechnic Institute to graduate soon, the institute says.

The Macao Polytechnic Institute issued a written statement quoting Ms Rosabal as saying so when she met the vice-president of the institute, Lei Ngan Lin, in Macao.

The institute says its first Cabo Verdean undergraduates enrolled in 2016 to study gaming management and public administration, and that nearly 100 are now studying there.

Its statement quotes Ms Rosabal as expressing hope that once the students graduate they will return home to help their country develop.

She expects the Macao Polytechnic Institute and Cabo Verde to have more dealings in due course, the institute says.
