The Chinese authorities have given seven slaughterhouses in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina permission to export pork innards to China, Reuters reports.

The news agency quotes Brazilian Agriculture Minister Tereza Cristina Dias as saying on Monday the permission was a result of talks held when Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro visited China last month.

Ms Dias said on Twitter exports could begin immediately.

BRF S.A. runs one of the slaughterhouses, with Cooperativa Central Aurora Alimentos, Pamplona Alimentos, and JBS S.A. running two each, Reuters says.

In a separate report, Reuters quotes JBS as saying its plants in Santa Catarina will export 400 tonnes of pork innards to China soon.
