An association of Brazilian meat producers, ABPA, expects Brazilian exports of pork and chicken to increase next year as Chinese demand remains strong, Reuters reports.

The news agency quotes ABPA as saying the amount of pork Brazil exports this year will jump by 14.5 percent to 740,000 tonnes this year, driven by sales to Mainland China, Hong Kong and rising shipments to Russia, Chile and Vietnam.

ABPA forecasts that pork exports will grow by at least 15 percent next year to at least 850,000 tonnes.

The report says Brazil sold 218,000 tonnes of pork to China in the first 11 months of this year, 51 percent year more than in the corresponding period last year.

ABPA forecasted on Thursday that the amount of chicken Brazil exports will grow to 4.5 million tonnes next year, a 7 percent rise from the upper range of 2019 export projections of 4.2 million tonnes, the report says.

Brazil sold 513,000 tonnes of chicken to China the first 11 months of this year, 28 percent more than a year earlier, Reuters says.
