São Paulo Governor Geraldo Alckmin has given Chinese businesspeople an outline of opportunities for investment in his state, the São Paulo State website reports.
The website says Mr Alckmin met representatives of the Shanghai General Association of Brazil and the Brazilian branch of Bank of China.
The governor told Shanghai General Association of Brazil President Marcos Zheng of the range of business opportunities in the state.
And Mr Alckmin discussed with Bank of China Brazil President Zhang Guanghua how the bank could help attract Chinese investment in São Paulo.
Mr Zheng said: “We want to support the State of São Paulo and strengthen the ties between our peoples in all spheres.”
Representatives of São Paulo and China have signed six agreements on agriculture, the environment and sport in the past five years, the São Paulo website says.
