A delegation from the Union of Capital Cities of Portuguese Language (UCCLA) will meet officials and businesspeople in a boost to Macao’s role as a destination where China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries do business.
The group was invited by the Government of Macao and the tour begins tomorrow.
UCCLA Secretary-General Vítor Ramalho said the tour will “stimulate both the Macao Forum and the fund created to support the Portuguese-speaking Countries”.
Mr Ramalho was referring to the US$1-billion China-Portuguese-Speaking Countries Cooperation and Development Fund established in 2013.
The group is scheduled to meet Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On. They will also meet representatives from the fund, the Macau Forum, the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, the Institute for Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau and the Bank of China, the Portuguese news agency Lusa reported.
