The Portuguese Poetry Recital Competition for Tertiary Education Institutions of China was held in Macao last month to promote the Portuguese literature and culture among students, the Macao Polytechnic Institute says.

The MPI says the 12th edition of the event attracted 31 students from 12 Macao and Mainland Chinese universities.

The event could also encourage students to read more, as well as facilitate the exchanges of Portuguese-learning students across Mainland China, the statement from the MPI noted.
