Repairs and upgrades to the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro football stadium in Guinea-Bissau have been completed, Macauhub reports.
The website reports that the government requested assistance from Chinese contractors to install a new electrical system and replace cabling stolen by burglars in 2015. The work is estimated at 500 million CFA francs (US$809,000).
The stadium was built in the 1990s with Beijing’s support. It has a capacity of 15,000 spectators and has hosted sports events and presidential inaugurations.
