Exports and FDI up, imports down in Mozambique’s 2017 forecasts

Revenue from Mozambique’s exports may reach US$3.46 million next year, an increase of 5.2 percent on estimates for this year, Notícias reports.

The newspaper cites data from the latest Economic and Social Plan submitted to the country’s parliament by the government.

The government expects next year’s imports to fall to US$5.65 million, a drop of 9.8 percent in year-on-year terms, the newspaper reports.

According to the government’s forecasts, foreign direct investment could reach US$3 billion next year, an increase of 57 percent from this year’s expected FDI.
