Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries nearly US$95.3 bln in January-August 2018

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$95.255 billion in the period from January to August 2018. It represented a 21.47 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$67.232 billion to China in the first eight months of 2018 – a rise of 22.00 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$28.023 billion in the same period, up by 20.21 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in August between the parties topped US$13.026 billion, an increase of 4.64 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$9.618 billion, up by 8.98 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.408 billion in August, a decline of 5.94 percent compared with the previous month.
