Mainland carrier Air China and its subsidiary Air Macau are assessing a new route form Macao to Beijing and Lisbon, reports the Jornal Tribuna de Macau newspaper.

The report claimed the two companies would like to “develop such product as soon as possible,” although an assessment of the route’s feasibility was ongoing, Air Macau Vice-President Liao Hanxi was quoted as saying.

The route would take into account the importance of the historical relationship between Portugal and China, he said.
