China, Portuguese-speaking Countries trade tops US$89.4 bln in Jan-Sept

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$89.426 billion in the period from January to September 2017. It represented a 29.36 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$62.809 billion to China in the first nine months of 2017 – a rise of 31.26 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$26.617 billion in the same period, up 25.09 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in September between the parties topped US$11.006 billion, up 1.87 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$7.701 billion, an increase of 5.28 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$3.306 billion in September, down 5.27 percent compared with the previous month.
