Brazil supplied 77 percent of the soya beans imported by China in July, the Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo reported.

Brazil’s share of that market rose year-on-year. In July 2015, Brazil had supplied 67 percent of the Asian nation’s total imports of soya beans, according to the report, quoted by online news portal Macauhub.

In the January-to-July period this year, China imported a total of 46.3 million tonnes of soya beans, compared to 44.6 million tonnes in the same period last year. Brazil sold 27 million tonnes of soya beans to China in the first seven months of this year, a 20-percent year-on-year increase, the report added.
