China and Guinea-Bissau will enhance their co-operation; particularly in the areas of agriculture, education and fisheries, said on Monday China’s Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau, Wang Hua.
He made the remarks in a meeting – held in the Guinean capital Bissau – with Guinea-Bissau’s Secretary of State for International Co-operation and Communities, Augusto Poquena, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
“The two parties have expressed their desire to work together to guarantee greater prosperity for their peoples,” said Mr Wang. “China, which is one of the key development partners of Guinea-Bissau, will strongly support [Guinea-Bissau’s] agriculture and infrastructure sectors,” he added.
The Chinese Government has recently offered Guinea-Bissau materials worth US$1.25 million to boost rice production in the African nation.
