Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$14.8 bln in January-February 2017

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$14.845 billion in the period from January to February 2017. It represented a 32.64 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$10.283 billion to China in the first two months of 2017 – a rise of 43.74 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$4.562 billion in the same period, up by 12.97 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in February between the parties topped US$6.626 billion, up by 19.39 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$5.020 billion, down 4.61 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$1.606 billion in February, a decrease of 45.68 percent compared with January.
