The Government of Guinea-Bissau plans to give a presentation about housing and infrastructure projects during the 4th Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), being held this week in the Chinese capital, Beijing, online news portal Macauhub reported.
Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Public Works, Construction and Urban Planning, Malam Banjai, heads the country’s delegation visiting Beijing. He said – as quoted by the media outlet – that the meeting in Beijing would also serve to evaluate the action plan approved in FOCAC’s summit in Johannesburg, held last December.
China’s President Xi Jinping announced in the Johannesburg meeting that China would offer US$60 billion to Africa to help fund new co-operation and development programmes across 10 sectors in the following three years.
The 4th FOCAC is taking place in China from July 28 to 31. The Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Zhang Ming said ministers and other representatives from 53 African nations are expected to take part in this week’s meeting.
