Mozambique’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation, Nyeleti Mondlane, will go to the Chinese capital, Beijing, to take part on Friday in a meeting. It is to evaluate the practical implementation so far of plans formed as a result of last year’s Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), the Mozambican Government said on Tuesday in a statement.

According to the note, the meeting will gather Ministers and Vice Ministers of African countries that took part in the Forum.

During her stay in Beijing, Ms Mondlane will also attend a seminar on business co-operation between China and Africa, the statement said. The Minister will also have talks with authorities from African nations, as well as representatives from Chinese financial institutions.

The FOCAC was held in December last year held in Johannesburg, South Africa. China’s President Xi Jinping announced there that China would offer US$60 billion to Africa to help fund new co-operation and development programmes across 10 sectors in the following three years.
