China’s Ambassador to Angola, Cui Aimin, said the Chinese Government would assist a greater number of Chinese companies to invest in the development of the Angolan fisheries sector as a way of aiding the economic diversification of the African nation.

Mr Cui met on Thursday with the Angolan Minister of Fisheries, Victoria de Barros Neto. They discussed co-operation between the two nations in that area, the Embassy said in a statement.

The Ambassador noted the two parties could combine their respective strengths in fisheries business as part of the co-operation process.

Ms Neto was quoted saying Angola would welcome further Chinese investment regarding dock construction, boat maintenance, aquaculture, food product processing and logistics.
