Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$41.692 billion in the period from January to June 2016. It represented a 13.34 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.

Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$28.754 billion to China in the first six months of 2016 – an increase of 0.63 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$12.938 billion in the same period, down 33.78 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.

The total value of merchandise traded in June between the parties topped US$8.956 billion, up by 6.64 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$6.440 billion, an increase of 4.95 percent month-to-month. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.516 billion in June, up by 11.22 percent compared with the previous month.
