The Angolan Government will invest at least US$368 million on infrastructure at seven industrial development hubs in the country, using a credit line from China, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The news was given by Ivan do Prado, director of the Office of Studies, Planning and Statistics a department under the Angolan Ministry of Industry, this week in Luanda, Angola’s capital.

The government was soliciting public tenders for the projects, with construction starting as soon as the contracts were awarded, he said. It was expected that the infrastructure at the seven hubs would be built within 11 to 13 months, he added.

Angola sealed new financing arrangements with China last year, whereby the Asian nation would provide about US$6 billion in credit lines to the African country to finance a range of public sector projects.
