According to data revealed by Farmnews, in January 2023, Brazil renewed the beef export record for the period of the year, adding up to the equivalent of 160.2 thousand tons, a value 16.0% above the previous record in January of 2022 (138.0 thousand tons).

China continues to be the largest importers of beef from Brazil. The country imported, in January 2023, the equivalent of US$483.3 million and 98.9 thousand tons of beef from Brazil, with 62.3% of the country’s total beef export revenue, while in January 2022 this amount was, respectively, US$328.5 million and 52.6 thousand tons of beef. The growth of Chinese exports of Brazilian beef increased by 88.0% between January 2022 and 2023.

The United States remains the second largest importer of Brazilian beef, followed by Chile, with a share in revenues of 7.3% and 3.4% in January 2023.
