The Chinese government has sent a Tibetan delegation to Brazil to promote understanding of the region in the South American country, China’s state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
The delegation headed by Xinza Danzengquzha, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Tibetan Autonomous Region, attended a seminar on Tibet in Rio de Janeiro on Monday.
“We would like to present the real Tibet to Brazilians. We hope everyone can learn about Tibet in a comprehensive and objective manner,” the official said.
Xinhua also quoted Song Yang, Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, saying: “Tibet is an important theme in the strategic relationship between Brazil and China.”
