China and Brazil are poised to renew the Joint Action Plan between both countries when Chinese Premier Minister Li Keqiang visits the South American nation in May, reports news website Macauhub.

The original Joint Action Plan between China and Brazil was signed in 2010 and officially expired last year. But when visiting Brazil in July last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced his willingness to renew the plan and extend it until 2021.

According to Macauhub, the new document, still being drafted, is expected to be very similar to the current one. Trade and economic cooperation were two areas already included in the 2010-2014 plan.

China is Brazil’s largest trading partner.
