The Liberian ship “Santos” successfully docked on the evening of March 26 in the port area of Shihu, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, in eastern China, marking the opening of the first maritime foreign trade bulk cargo route between Quanzhou and Brazil.
Loaded with 15,159 tons of pulp products, the ship “Santos” departed from the Port of Itaguaí in Brazil on February 11 and completed the maiden voyage of this transoceanic route over 45 days.
The successful maiden voyage not only filled the gap in pulp raw material transportation routes between Quanzhou Port and South America, but also injected new energy into Quanzhou's export-driven economic development.
In addition to this new route, the Port of Quanzhou has 14 foreign trade container routes to 17 cities and regions, effectively covering Southeast Asia and opening up the channels to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
