The Chinese government's plan to increase domestic consumption tends to directly help Espírito Santo's economy if it is consolidated. This is the assessment of the state government and experts consulted by A Tribuna.
As a commodities exporter, the state's coffee, iron ore, cellulose and ornamental stone sectors could be strengthened by the demand for more industrial production in China.
China is the main destination for Espírito Santo's pulp production. Exports to the country accounted for 35.11 per cent of the total product sent to foreign demand in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to data from the Jones dos Santos Neves Institute (IJSN).
Espírito Santo still sold mainly granite and other rocks in blocks or slabs (21.10 per cent), iron ores and their concentrates (15.55 per cent) and marble and other rocks in blocks or slabs (8.50 per cent) to China between October and December 2024.
