The Timorese airline Aero Dili will open next week the air route connecting the capital of Timor-Leste to the southern Chinese city of Xiamen, Lourenço de Oliveira, executive director of that private company, said on 9 February in statements to Lusa.

Lourenço de Oliveira explained that he decided to open the route because it represents a large market, considering the thousands of Chinese living in Timorese territory.

The process was not easy, said the Timorese businessman, but 14 February marks the beginning of the flight to Xiamen.

The connection between the two cities takes around 5 hours and 20 minutes, and the round trip will cost around 1,060 dollars.
