This month, Brazil receive the first multitasking humanoid robot from Chinese manufacturer Unitree, imported by Gohobby. The model is expected to expand the applications of robotics in Brazil, with potential use in academic research, industry, healthcare and public service.
The robot, designed to replicate human movements exactly, stands out for its ability to perform repetitive tasks and interact with people through facial and voice recognition. The Santa Catarina State University (Udesc) is the first Brazilian institution to acquire the technology, which will be available for research at the Center for Technological Sciences (CCT) in Joinville.
The Professor Douglas Bertol, from Udesc's Electrical Engineering Department, said that the technology expands Udesc's possibilities for development in strategic sectors such as health, industry and education, as well as bringing the community closer to robotic solutions.
