The State Grid Brazil Holding (SGBH), which is part of the State Grid Corporation of China, will build a new transmission line from Maranhão to Goiás, in Brazil, with the total investiment about R$18 billion by 2030.
The transmission lines will pass through 13 states in Brazil and are equivalent to 10% of the entire Brazilian electricity grid. These are the largest transmission lines in the world, with the technology of ± 800 kV UATCC.
On October 16, at the opening of the China-Latin America Media Cooperation Forum, Sun Tao, the chairman of SGBH, said that the company has become the second largest transmission company in Brazil. By implementing major concession projects, such as Phase I and II of the Belo Monte CCU, they promote cooperation and exchange between China and Brazil in transmission technology, equipment and standards, which has boosted the development of Brazil's local energy, electrical equipment and raw materials industries, achieving mutual benefits and win-win cooperation between China and Brazil.
