China is willing to collaborate with the Brazilian government in finding a solution for the Brazilian satellite coverage. The initial talks were held with Telebrás in recent days, which is looking for an alternative method to the capacity limitations of Brazil's SGDC satellite.

Although there is still no definition of the best model for the cooperation, China would like to discuss with Brazil about a broader collaboration to use the Qianfan constellation (also known as Thousand Sails), a Chinese low orbit system being implemented by the state-owned Shanghai Spacecom Satellite Technology (SSST), or the construction and launch, as a matter of urgency, of a new geostationary satellite that covers Brazil's current and medium-term needs.

A next step, considered decisive, should be taken during the agenda of Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the Brazilian President Lula in November this year, before the start of the G20 summit.
