Brazilian coffee exports recorded an annual growth of 4.35 percent in January this year, according to official figures reported by news agency Agência Brazil.
Brazil exported a total of 2.98 million 60-kilogram bags of coffee last month, against 2.85 million bags in January 2014.
Coffee exports totalled US$589 million in January, a 50 percent increase over the same month in 2014.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil, coffee was the country’s fifth most exported product, representing 10.4 percent of all Brazilian exports in January.
Germany topped the list of main buyers of Brazilian coffee in January, followed by the United States, Italy, Belgium and Japan.
