On September 11, Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, met with Chinese Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ma Youxiang.
The bilateral meeting took place during the G20 Agriculture Working Group in Chapada dos Guimarães, Brazil. During the meeting, some of the main topics of interest in agricultural technical and commercial cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
In view of Brazil's biosafety policies, Carlos Fávaro emphasized the importance of synchronized cooperation between Brazil and China in the development of new technologies, which will help increase productivity and, consequently, the commercialization of products.
The bilateral meeting also discussed the possibility of exploring and expanding markets for Brazilian products.
The delegation from the Chinese government, led by Vice Minister of Agriculture, Ma Youxiang, arrived in Chapada dos Guimarães, Brazil, on September 11 to participate in the G20 Ministerial Meeting, taking place between September 12 and 13.
