China's largest private wind turbine manufacturer Mingyang announced, on August 16, that it has received the order from Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) for its MySE 6.25-172 model.

“We are excited to announce the installation of our first MySE 6.25-172 wind turbine in the Americas, scheduled for early 2025,” said the company.

According to Copel, the deal involves a wind turbine that should be installed in the Asa Branca III park in the municipality of Parazinho, in Rio Grande do Norte, with operation scheduled for March 2025.

This agreement with Copel is the second announced by Mingyang in Brazil. Mingyang declared in January that a preferred supplier agreement (PSA) for a wind project in Brazil had been signed.  The project would be divided into two phases, with the supply of 30 MySE 4.0-156 turbines and 19 MySE 6.25-172 turbines. At the time, the Chinese company also reported discussions for a 20-year operation and maintenance contract for the equipment.
