Mozambique’s new government plans to submit the national budget for 2015 to the Parliament in early March, according to Minister of Economy and Finance Adriano Maleiane.
Mr Maleiane said on Tuesday that the proposal should be ready by the end of this month, reported Mozambican newspaper O País.
The new government, led by Prime Minister Carlos do Rosário, took office last month.
Mozambique’s central bank estimates the country will achieve economic growth of 7.7 percent, with inflation of 5.5 percent in 2015.
Mr Maleiane added that the 2015 budget would include relief funds targeting the flood-affected areas.
Ongoing floods are affecting several regions of Mozambique. According to reports, about 150 people have already died due to the floods and the heavy rains have also damaged crops.
