On June 8, a meeting was held at the Institute for International Peasant Cooperation (IAPC) to discuss strengthening the Brazil-China partnership for Agricultural Mechanization of Family Farming. At the meeting, holding a technological residency was discussed to promote exchanges between students and researchers from both countries.
The residency is developed through a partnership between several universities, such as the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (Uern), the State Secretariat for Rural Development and Family Agriculture (Sedraf) and the Agricultural University of China (CAU). This will be the first residency in agricultural mechanization in Brazil.
The central objective of this residency is to enable Brazilian students, technicians, researchers and teachers to go to China and also for these groups to come to Brazil to increase the Brazil-China partnership for the mechanization of family farming. The first group of Chinese students is expected to arrive in Brazil, in Apodi, in August.
