Hydroelectric plant expansion project undertaken by China creates 3,000 jobs in Angola

The repair and expansion project for the Luassim Hydroelectric Power Station was completed in the city of Dundo, Ronda Norte province, in Angola, according to the financier, China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd., a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Cooperation.


The Minister of Energy and Water of Angola, João Borges, praised the project at the completion ceremony, stating that the project created around 3 thousand direct jobs for the local community, benefiting more than 200 thousand residents, and highlighted its importance in accessing local electricity, improving social conditions and developing agriculture, livestock and mining industries.


The Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, highlighted that the project is an example of successful cooperation between the Angolan Ministry of Energy and Water and Chinese companies. He hopes that, in the future, China and Angola will implement more similar cooperation projects to promote Angola's economic and social development, improve the well-being of the local population and jointly create a better future.
