On 13 May, Mato Grosso's forestry sector took part in an exchange dinner to promote and attract Chinese investment from Macau and Hengqin, organized by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (Ipim) in São Paulo.
The meeting took place at the Pullman Hotel in São Paulo. The Center of Wood Producing and Exporting Industries of the State of Mato Grosso (Cipem) was represented by vice-president Zico Sigfrid Kirsch, who attended the official event with the mission of lining up an action to bring Mato Grosso businesspeople closer to Chinese buyers.
"This was a very important meeting. It was agreed that, in order to establish a trade link with China, we need a certificate that guarantees the origin of the raw material of the forest products. Likewise, buyers need to have this certificate in order to purchase the products," Sigfrid emphasized, pointing out that Mato Grosso's forestry sector is the only state in the federation that has traceability throughout the native wood production chain.
