China's XCMG is investing R$ 270 million in its operation in Pouso Alegre, southern Minas Gerais, Brazil, where it produces construction and mining machinery.

The aim is to nationalize its electric truck model, a horse-mechanic that is currently imported from China, the E7-49T 6×4, which has the capacity to transport 49 tons for a price of R$1.3 million.

With its second largest factory in the world, with an area of 1.5 million square meters, of which 1 million square meters are built, XCMG will build a research and development center to make the E7-49T 6×4 a vehicle fully adapted to the national scenario.

Still an untapped segment, given that buses are the best-selling electric vehicles among heavy vehicles in Brazil, XCMG is confident that the national market has a good demand for electric trucks in cargo transportation.
