Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 20.
Ma Zhaoxu recalled that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil and said that China is willing to take this opportunity to work with Brazil to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further strengthening the docking of development strategies, deepening cooperation in various areas and taking China-Brazil relations to a new level.
The Chinese vice minister also highlighted that China supports Brazil's work as president of the G20 and jointly promotes the success of this year's G20 summit.
The Brazilian chancellor said that as president of the G20, Brazil hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in the G20 and contribute to global economic governance.
On the same day, Ma Zhaoxu had an in-depth exchange of views on G20 cooperation with G20 affairs coordinator Mauricio Carvalho Lyrio.
